RESEARCH SUMMARY

I am an ecologist and evolutionary biologist with particular interests in integrating molecular evidence from genomic data to gene (especially allele) functions and ecology to examine adaptation, speciation, diversification and distribution of plants and animals (Bovini species). My research is at the interface of ecology, genetics and evolution. I mainly aim with my research group to:

  • Understand genetic changes underlying environmental adaptation, phenotypic divergence and species diversification;
  • Explore demographic and evolutionary histories of current species and predict their future adaptation and distributions in response to global climate change.
  • Published >200 research papers as corresponding author or first author in a wide range of journals, including Nature Genetics, Nature Plants, Nature Communications, Nature Climate Change, PNAS, Science Advances, Molecular Ecology, Molecular Biology and Evolution, New Phytologist, Evolution and Journal of Biogeography.
  • Citations: Total citations > 15638. H-index=64 (Google Scholar – 3 March 2023).
  • Supervised >50 PhD and MSc students; >20 graduates have obtained professorships.
